Jan Fisher Wins Ladies Event at Nguyen Poker Challenge
Jan Fisher, a Las Vegas resident, headed to Oklahoma and won first place at the Scotty Nguyen Poker Challenge III's Ladies No-Limit Hold'em Event. 195 entrants paid the $120 entry fee to play. 18 women cashed. The total prize pool was $17,550, $5,787 of which went to the champ herself.
New Pro Wins Main Event at Nguyen Challenge in Oklahoma
TULSA, OK Dena Leath, who just turned pro, celebrated her decision by winning the $1000+70 No-Limit Holdem event of the Scotty Nguyen Challenge at the Cherokee Casino. Its her 3 final table appearance in 9 tournament events since turning pro.
LAUREN LARTER WINS LADIES BAYOU POKER CHAMPIONSHIP
Lauren Larter, a 24-year-old college student at Louisiana State University won the 2007 Ladies Bayou Poker Championship. The $200 buy-in no-limit hold'em tournament held for ladies only was hosted by Harrah's New Orleans. It was the twelvth event of this year's World Series of Poker Circuit tournament. Larter topped a record field. She lives in Mandeville, Louisiana and is sudying occupational therapy in college. Larter took the top cash prize of $18,102, along with the gold and diamond pendant presented to the winner. It was the biggest ladies' event in the three-year history of the WSOP Circuit at Harrah's New Orleans. In 2005, the event attracted 289 players. Last year, there were 225 entries. In 2007, the Ladies Championship attracted 301 participants.

2005 Ladies Champ Veronica Heath Repeats and Wins Second Pendant
I want a ring, Veronica Heath said playfully as she wrapped up her win in the eighth event of the WSOP Circuit tour at Caesars Indiana, the $200 no-limit Ladies Only championship. Well, why not? The petite 23-year-old rising superstar already has two championship pendants, having earned her first two years ago here. (And she also finished fourth in this event last October.) Tonight she built up a massive lead midway through the final table and scored an impressive victory.

Christine Rebardo, 21, in First-Ever Event, Wins Ladies $200 No-Limit
I was proud to be the youngest person at the table, Christine Rebarto, 21, wrote on her bio sheet. She was also the luckiest. Playing in her first tournament, she started the ladies $200 no-limit event with only 16,000 of the 600,000 chips in play, went all in six times and survived each time before finally taking all the chips in the eighth event of the Harrahs WSOP Circuit at Harrahs Atlantic City. The victory brought her $12,800 and a diamond-and-gold championship pendant.
