Never has there been as many exciting opportunities for women poker players. August and September are HUGE months for ladies tournaments!
Kicking it off with the Bicycle Casino's Ladies Poker Open on Aug 19th & 20th where women will compete for a seat onto the WPT Ladies Night IV stage! For a mere $100 +$25 you can try your hand at the big event! But wait, that isn't all... there is a cocktail party first! So bring your friends ladies for a buffet, cocktail and poker! What a way to spend the day!!
Then, the next weekend, back by popular demand, the Ladies Dream Weekend at the Commerce Casino! This two day event involves a wine tasting party and buffet on day one and a tournament buy in of $97+20+3=$120. Then the next day, another buffet and seminar with Linda Johnson & Jan Fisher. The tournament is a slightly higher buy in of $194+25+6=$225.
There will be prizes and gifts and great times for all the ladies in attendance. But, the biggest prize is what the winners of both days will receive. They will have won their seat into the LIPS/WPT $1,000 buy in being held at the Commerce Casino on February 3rd, 2007 where one women will win her seat to the WPT $25k buy in Championship at the Bellagio in 2007!
Then on September 10th, it's a record day in women's poker! In Minnesota, it's the Minnesota State Ladies Championship at Canterbury Park Racetrack and Casino. Buffet at 11AM and tournament at Noon. A $260 + $40 buy in where the winner will get a seat to the US Ladies Championship representing Minnesota! Linda Johnson and Jan Fisher are also going to be in attendance the day before for buffet and seminar! So spend the weekend at the racetrack!
Also that day is the Borgata Open Ladies Event in Atlantic City, a $260 + $40 tournament starting at 11AM.
Then on the left coast, in the north is the WSOP Circuit Tour Ladies event at Harrah's Lake Tahoe starting at 11Am with a $200 + $30 buy in.
And last but not least, Commerce Casino CA State Championships Ladies Event at 6PM for a $291 + $9 + $30. Winner of that event also gets a seat to the LIPS/WPT $1k buy in February 2007.
Later in the month on Sept 16th is the Arizona State Ladies Championship at Casino Arizona. It starts at 9am and has a $100,000 Guarantee! By in is $250 + $25.
Next? Probably one of the most enjoyable events in Ladies Poker. The California State Ladies Poker Championships at Ocean's 11 Casino in Oceanside, CA.
This is a four day event with it's "Old West" theme begins on the 22nd at 11:00 a.m. “Saddle Up” Event Limit Hold’em Tournament $60 + $20 Buy-in then 7:00 p.m. Cocktail Reception.
On the 23rd at 11:00 a.m. is the “Fillies Round-up” LIPS EVENT. No-Limit Hold’em - $130 + $30 Buy-in with Line Dancing Lessons starting at 8PM.
The 24th is a Brunch from 9:30 a.m. – 11:00 a.m. followed by the “Fillies & Mares” Charity Event NLHE $80 + $20 Buy-in where 50% of Prize Pool is Donated to Ivey Ranch Equestrian Program. That evening at 7:00 p.m. is the “Country Hoedown” Dinner Party & Entertainment.
On Monday the 25th, the evening starts off with a Championship Dinner from 4:30 p.m. – 6:00 p.m. Then the main event begins with the California Ladies State Poker Championship at 6:30 PM. It's a No-Limit Hold’em tournament with a $230 + $30 Buy-in. The winner also represents the State of California at the US Ladies State Championship.
Did you think I was kidding? I told you so! We have never seen this kind of support for women's poker and it's only going to get better!
Look for the special satellites for the Ladies tournament abored the Card Player Cruises Mexican Riviera coming in October for the cruise in December!!
