Winter cold didn’t keep the ladies away for the first LIPS event at the Borgata Casino in Atlantic City. Several ladies were in the holiday spirit with Santa Hats, colorful holiday sweaters and more importantly, a friendly engagement of poker!
Keeping with the holiday theme, the “pot prizes” were all the way from “Santa Kissed” goodies to Frosty LIPS Polar Bears! They were being traded around until the right prize fit the right person. But no matter what the theme was, there was no doubt they were there to play poker and win a championship seat.
“I love the holidays and what’s better than a party and poker” said Kathy Dougherty of Oxford, Pennsylvania. “And my friend Carey made me do it!”
The staff at the Borgata is exceptional and the poker room is gorgeous and inviting. There was a large field of railbirds cheering on the final table and in the giving spirit, they all voted to give the “bubble girl” her buy in back.
When the gals got down to the final four, they made a decision to chop the monies and play for the Champion seat. But, when it went heads up, Carol Lugashi of Livingston, NJ and Maggie Morris of Stamford, CT decided to “chop the seat” too! They both will go as Champions representing the Borgata Casino at the LIPS Championship in July 2007 at the Orleans Casino in Las Vegas!
