The silent click of the camera can often be drowned out by the clicking of poker chips. So often times, players don't realize they are being captured "in the zone".
Monica Gralian, of Poker Face Photos is often the one behind the camera. She travels to various casinos and shoots action photos for players, and prints them for a nominal fee.
Many players would love a photo of themselves when they are playing, but most casinos do not allow photography for security reasons. So having a photographer in the house is a nice treat!
A five year veteran of photography, she feels very comfortable behind the camera. She was an art major specializing in black and white photography, and now loves being around the poker world. She is not a poker player, but loves the whole scene of poker. When asked how she got into poker, she stated, "I started off helping a friend shoot photos at tournaments and then branched out on my own." She giggled then continued, "Poker players are fun! It's like a big party and so many of them are very generous fun loving people." She is engaged to a soldier serving in Afghanistan and she was going to need a career that was flexible being the wife of a military man. This business definately fits the bill!
She recently covered the Gold Strike Poker Classic in Tunica and the Scotty Nguyen Poker Challenge at the Cherokee Casino in Tulsa. Her artistic eye sets her photos apart from many photographers. To view her work, visit www.PokerFacePhotos.com.
